About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To make good things happen, learn lots, Love- and laugh along the way

ABOUT ME

Irish,Friendly Professional Guy looking to meet friends- and soulmates, while travelling.

I am gay {though Hetero-Friendly :)] but I missed out on the fashion, effeminate and house proud genes (can i buy those somewhere?) I think this means I am kind of 'normal' Oh dear :(

I am very open-minded and love hearing about new things - it's all about learning and connecting with people.

PHILOSOPHY

To live, to learn, do good, have fun, (sometimes be serious) make friends and be happy.

Everything we do and say should be of benefit to someone (including ourselves).

If I can help I will

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am happy to meet people for a cup of coffee and sometimes put a roof over their heads. I would prefer to exchange emails and get to know people a bit BEFORE they arrive at my door.

Also happy to give anyone advice (or at least an opinion) about any of the places I have visited.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have met 2 people in other countries so far- both have been great experiences. Thanks Danubio [RIO] and Shai {Tel Aviv}.

Also hosted a few people including Saint Morralla (de la trucha) and Nikolai from germany. Lilian from Brazil (and Italy!) was also here and she is wonderful too. I really enjoyed sharing time with all of these people.

Unfortunately, I have had a few other people waste my time by making arrangements and not showing up. One even mailed me from Dublin to say he couldn't make it to Dublin! I was a bit annoyed because I had taken the weekend to clean his room and time off to host him.

I had another who sent me lots of mails to confirm dates and small details (about food, shopping, eating together) and then sent a one liner saying he wasn't coming (no reason and no apology - I guess no manners either). This was after I had arranged to take time off work to show him around - (Nice guy).

If you want to stay check your flights before asking me to stay. If you want to check my room availability that is fine but dont confirm until you are sure you will be in Ireland. You may be preventing another person getting a room.

If you would like to come and stay - be nice, be honest, be reliable and have a sense of humour. The people who have stayed here - so far- were really great and I hope to host more people soon.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Still doing amazing things- in terms of travel I have loved floating in dead sea, having cortado on the plaza mayor (Madrid)seeing falls in Iguacu, The statue of Jesus in Rio, Taking helicopter trips in New York, Foz and Oahu (I told you - engines), seeing the sun rise in Glendalough and eating crocodile in Cuba (really!)

Teach, Learn, Share

I really enjoy meeting people from other cultures. I love learning new ideas, skills and things. I also love teaching and sharing information when asked to do so. Learning is an active experience in my view. So we cannot teach people they can only learn but we can facilitate learning when people ask- and NOT when they dont.
