About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Keep learning new things each day.

ABOUT ME

I try to be present in the moment and treat everything I do with respect and devotion, or recognise what is not healthy and good for me. Often I do not live up to my own high hopes, but such is life.

I love music. Playing, singing, listening, dancing - sometimes all four at the same time, but I also love films and reading fiction. I used to be quite the bookworm, but have recently come to prefer the company of people to staying cooped up inside reading or watching films.

PHILOSOPHY

Find out what you love to do in life and pursue it with discipline. Respect other people and treat them with love, they are there to help you. Stay true to yourself.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I host surfers, couchsurf when I travel and go to the occasional meet-up. I keep up the spirit of Couchsurfing by doing activities with exchange students, like teaching them how to cook Finnish food, taking them to local music concerts and just talking about cultural differences and whatever else happens on this planet.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have seen what big help Couchsurfers can be in a trip that goes very badly.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

During my exchange period in Northern Ireland I went to yoga practice every week in Portrush, which is a picturesque resort town with long beaches on the North Coast. The place I practiced yoga at was right on the beach and when we did our finishing relaxation I could hear the waves coming to shore. The sound of the ebb and flow of the sea still stays with me.

Another good memory relating to the sea is the times I surfed in the same town. The best surfing experience I've had was one evening when the waves were hitting the shore quite hard. Fighting against the waves when going out to sea and then riding on them back is something that needs to be experienced.

One Summer in Finland I worked a bit further away from home and passed a clear blue lake on my way to and from work. When my workday ended I went for a swim. One of my favorite things during the Finnish Summer is dipping into a cold lake when it's sunny and sweaty out of the lake.
