About Me

Hey there, I'm Irving and I'm from Mexico City. I live in Grenoble (France ) and I’m a Masters student in Development economics. I have a passion for food, always looking to try new flavors and cuisines. I'm also a traveler (being to north and South America and Europe ) I enjoy long walks, hikes, bike rides, an outdoors runs or just nature contemplation. I like dogs, I have one myself her name is Patitas and she is a distemper survivor. I'm also into politics, history, international relations and how to make the world a better place kind of conversations. I love all kinds of music (we could have a long chat about it), contemporary and modern art , deep message kind of cinéma, museums and all kinds of cultural plans to hang around. I forgot to mention I'm also a little geek, I love everything about technology, I could be your personal tech guy advisor for the day (LOL). I'm also into amateur cell phone photography. Get to know me!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because I'd like to meet new people, their cultures, customs, food and they way they see the world around them. I've been fortunate enough to meet great people in the past while travelling and in my hometown that have showed me around and shared a little bit of them and what they stand for while sharing a cup of coffee and I'd like to bring that same vibe to this platform. I believe Couchsurfing is a good way to reach people and create a deeper connection and understanding of the country and culture you are visiting while sharing some great stories along the way and why not maybe make new friends.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Favorite band ever Coldplay, I'm also into Indie Electronic/Pop kind of music. Parcels and jungle are my current daily drivers
Movies: Amélie and many others ( we could have a long long conversation about movies)
Books: Favorite Academic book: Why Nations Fail by Daron Acemoglu, my favorite novel writer is Gabriel García Marquez (again long topic conversation) I've also enjoyed reading the Stieg Larsson Saga and Harry Potter Saga (don't judge me here and part of that generation).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Saving a dog's life.

Teach, Learn, Share

Make sure that you have something to offer or exchange. It can be something special from your hometown, a dance, your favorite food recipe, some phrases in you mother tong, it's up to you. JUST SHARE IT and don't be afraid.
This is about giving back right! I can teach you some basic Spanish, how to cook great mexican food, maybe teach you how to dance some popular mexican songs if you're into that kind of thing. I'm also good at fun facts so just ask me something.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share anything in my knowledge base except the bed. LOL
