Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

So far I have hosted, meet up, share meals, walked and drove couchsurfers around in Aveiro and the beaches, went to some couchsurfers events, homeexchanged, house/pet sit and met a lot of interesting people along the way.

AT THE MOMENT, I CAN NOT ACCEPT GUESTS, or be as active as used to be, due to my professional and family life, but get in touch....perhaps I CAN SHARE A WALK AROUND TOWN, A DRINK, MEAL, SOME CONVERSATION and above all,LAUGHS!!!! :-)

Aveiro is a nice coast town, about 1h south of Porto, 1h north of Coimbra and 2h north of Lisboa (either by train or driving). It's called Portugal's Venice. Guess why:

I am a busy professional, so sometimes I can not be with you. I will always be happy to help or to meet you up for a coffee or a drink, take you to visit around, have a good portuguese meal or taste our best wines at a local bar.

For me, CS is about cultural exchange and friendship. This means talking, understanding, laughing and sharing. It makes the whole experience more enjoyable.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I love the spirit of good will, of no barriers btw countries, religions, cultures, meet and learn from everyone, share experiences of travelling and others that make me a better person. CS is all about learn and sharing and I guess this is a good way of being in this world and contribute to improve it.

Always loved to travel, learn about other people, habits and ideas, meet different people and try to understand how they live and think.
I have very good experiences from my trips and had always been very well treated in every country I visited. I now want to welcome visitors in Portugal to have very good experiences as well! And continue to visit new places, now as a CS also.

Interests

I love travelling and meeting nice people; music is a must, as well as good humored and intelligent conversations.

I also love the sun and the beach (I am Portuguese!!...), to experience all type of new things and to communicate.
I would love to go travel around the world:) and 2 yrs ago I found out how wonderful it is to cruise and to sail!
After this experience I wanted a second one and after this I got a "couch" in a sailing boat for 2 weeks and learnt to sail (well, just the basics....!!) Quite a wonderful experience, though!! :-)

I would also like to be a volunteer for a longer time when professional life allows ...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Seen: - my trip to Flam by train from Oslo and shipping along the fiords! wonderful!;
- the Greek Islands
- Driving the dunes in Genipabu (Brasil)
- Find amazing people from all around the world

Done: calm down someone poiting a gun into my head...

Teach, Learn, Share

Share: experiences, ideas, good humor and interests.

Learn: about everyone and every places. I am a life learner!

Prefer to share knowledge and ideas than teaching 'cause we always learn from the relationships we make.
To teach and to learn, are the two sides of the same - a compromise between sharing and discussing different ideas.
It's a win-win thing. If you're able to communicate, you are teaching and learning at the same time.
If the experience is meanfull it is also a learning. Knowledge that you can and should share in future. Something that may help you and others....
