About Me

I am a recent graduate from Bennington College in the United States. I'm from a tiny town on a rock in the middle of the Pacific Ocean known as Hawai'i, but I've lived all over the United States, as well as in Mexico, Peru, and India. When I'm home in Hawai'i, I work on a farm where my boss (originally from Japan) and I grow and make tea. I play music literally all the time, and am a big book and art nerd. In New Orleans, I hustle part-time as a pedicabber.

At the moment, I'm living in Chisinau, Moldova, where I'm studying Romanian. I'm travelling around Eastern Europe quite a bit, and I'd love to meet some more people!

Music, Movies, and Books

Anything by Toni Morrison, Jhumpa Lahiri, Saadat Hasan Manto, Claudia Rankine, Mario Vargas Llosa, Octavio Paz, Carmen Laforet, Wilson Bueno, Mohsin Hamid, the list goes on...

For films, anything by Peter Greenaway!

Music, I listen to absolutely anything, but recently Pakistani Metal and Indian classical music have been topping the list, because of what I'm studying!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I lived in Peru, I was working on an archaeology team on the excavation of a 1300 year old temple in the city of Lima where we discovered a couple of very historically significant graves that changed the narrative of the reign of empires on the Peruvian coast. If you can read Spanish, you can find it all here, if not, there are still some sweet photos (I'm the one wearing the orange and black striped shirt): http://elcomercio.pe/lima/miraflores-descubren-4-tumbas-600-anos-huaca-pucllana-246983
