Portugal. the man, twenty-one pilots (mostly), Alabama shakes, and Dr. Dog, to name a few.
A list of favorite novels is a difficult one, since there are so many, but I do tend to find myself drawn to contemporary science-fiction/fantasy. Cloud Atlas or The Bone Clocks by David Mitchell would about sum up my preferences nicely.
