About Me

I am from the the middle of nowhere on the west coast of Scotland where I developed a high tolerance to rain. Like most people, I enjoy spending time in cool places with good people. I study architecture in Glasgow.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm currently taking a year out before going to university and I am using the time to do some traveling and explore europe. I have basic level french but I want to become fluent, so am trying to immerse myself in the language. Couchsurfing seems like a great way to meet people from all over the world, all with different experiences to share and that really appeals to me.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music - I grew up listening to reggae and skarr, I love 60/70s rock and roll, and I've been getting really into jazz and techno/electronic recently. And I’ll always have time for Édith Piaf!
Books - Sci-fi/fantasy/adventure fiction, most of all - recently reading the Mortal Engines quartet. Comedic writers like Terry Pratchet or Douglas Adams, and I love reading about physics and scientific theories/discoveries in general.
Some of my favourite movies; Goodbye Lenin, Inception and The Grand Budapest Hotel.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

What amazes me might not amaze you but here goes....
Surfing - always find it amazing, especially when accompanied by some spontaneous dolphins!
4 day hike with friends in the beautiful Languedoc region of France.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can help anyone who wants to improve their english, and I would be glad of any help to improve my french or german. I'm really up for learning and sharing recipes/dishes especially vegetarian as I'm trying to reduce the amount of meat I eat.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I like to bake and cook meals, especially curries/dahls, and I have a great recipe for beetroot burgers.
A good conversation :)
