About Me

My name is Isaac Rodríguez and I was born in Manresa, a city near Barcelona. All my life I have lived between these two cities.

I am a filmmaker focused in documentary films, and I am currently studying a master degree. In addition, I work as a film and cinema teacher with different kind of people such as kids, teenagers or inmates.

My friends say that I am funny and friendly, although I think that I am bit shy and a spiritual and reflexive person. I like to talk and share good conversations, but I also appreciate to be calm and quiet, especially after a long day of travelling. I also consider myself as an open-minded, tolerant and solidarity guy. I am an animal lover, that’s the reason because I am a member of an animal charity association.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am in couchsurfing because of some reasons. Obviously, because I love travelling and doing big routes around the world. I like to travel alone, but sometimes I get bored because of the loneliness (especially in big capitals) and I would like to meet new people. So, I think that couchsurfing is a good platform to help me to know that kind of people and make my travel more interesting and dynamic. Finally, I consider that helping each other between travellers in saving money by using our resources (such as offer a sofa, a tour guide in our town or a glass of water) is one of the aims of couchsurfing and all of us.

Interests

As I said before, one of my principal interests is travelling. I am sure that I am not the only one here! According to my sports interests, I like watching Formula 1 and other sports on TV, but I only like to practice trekking. I adore walking through forests, climbing mountains and see spectacular landscapes. Some other interests are my job, cinema, tv shows, art, social issues, actuality, …

Music, Movies, and Books

I like all kind of music styles depending on the moment and on the mood. I love Tim Burton’s and Lars von Trier’s films. In my opinion, the best film director is Stanley Kubrick. I usually see social documentaries and independent films. However, I think that nowadays some TV shows are really well-done, such as Game of Thrones, Sons of Anarchy or Breaking Bad. My favourite book is “Mecanoscrit del segon origen”, a Catalan book by Manuel de Pedrolo.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In summers I teach cinema to inmates in a prison. We do some shortfilms, they express their feelings and we share reflexions about this world. For me is an incredible experience and I learn as much as them.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can offer a good talk about a long list of issues to my hosts. In addition, I can offer some Spanish or Catalan practice. Both are my native languages and I have a neutral accent. We can also share a walk. I would like to discover new routes and landscapes in the nature. Finally, I would like to offer something related to cinema or filming, but I think that could be quite difficult in a short term.
