About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Write songs that make people feel good.

ABOUT ME

Musician, busker, hitcher, mountains, lakes and cool vans.

Hi y'all! I haven't updated my CS page in so long so here it goes! I have spent the last five years playing with the folk-rock group Jukebox Gypsy and have recently started playing solo and with my girlfriend Zena (check out some music here: www.isaactabor.com). We live on the beautiful Sheep's Head peninsula in West Cork, Ireland and play gigs around Ireland, Germany, Netherlands---where ever the music takes us!

My big passion is music, guitar, oldtimey music, folk-rock, the Grateful Dead and anything that pushes the boundaries a little.

I love getting together with other musicians and singing songs into the late hours. I also like to meet people of different cultures, as part of forming a global community of friends.

PHILOSOPHY

I feel we should all positively contribute to the world in some way --- whatever way we feel that is. At the same time I think its important to not judge people's intentions, motives or thoughts on contribution, should they be in conflict with yours.

The power of music is amazing. It gives me a high and feeling of belonging that has shaped my world.

Music, Movies, and Books

It'd be impossible to list all the music I like! But I play a lot of bluegrass, folk rock and oldtimey songs with my band and at sessions. I subconsciously thrive to be in the Grateful Dead, musically and philosophically. Some bands to list would be CSNY, Bob Dylan, Woody Guthrie, The Weavers, Eliza Gilkyson, The Band, Hot Tuna ---and more of that good ol' sixties folk sound! I like to play a lot other music too though, jazz, blues, rammstein!

My favorite film is most probably Paris, Texas by Wim Wenders. I am a great fan of early John Waters flicks, as well as Tim Burton, David Lynch, Ingmar Bergman and Werner Herzog. --- as well as watching the classics, I love a cheap no-brainer comedy!

My only true discovery in literature has been Charles Bukowski, for laying it out in its purest form, but I also like to read the beat poets, EE Cummings, and Alan Lomax's music history books.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I saw two Condors circle above the flatlands of Cordoba, all fears and troubles escaped me for a second, and I left that thinking that this life is not about strut and huff, but connecting with people and planet.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach music; show you how to play a good oldtimey song or a banjo lick. Whatever you fancy in that department! I also speak a few languages, and can be of help with french, spanish, dutch.

I am here to learn as much as I can, in this short life time. Of course Id love to learn anything music related, as well as building or making things with my hands.

Countries I’ve Visited

Argentina, Morocco

Countries I’ve Lived In
