About Me

I'm originally from Kentucky, but I lived in New Orleans for four years while studying public health and French at Tulane University. After graduation, I went to France to teach English for 8 months to get my travel fix - that 8 months has now turned into three years on the road. I've been through Europe and Southeast Asia, spent a year working in Australia, and have just finished up a trip through South America. My boyfriend and I will be passing through San Francisco for 5 days on our way back to Australia and we would love a host to put us up and show us around! I've never couch surfed before, and I know it's hard to get accepted without references, but you have to start somewhere! Please let me know if you'd like me to provide references of my own.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I really enjoy getting to know a city from a local's perspective. Lonely planet doesn't hold a bar to the insight of a local! I've met some amazing people while traveling and I love to discuss their past and future travel plans to gain inspiration for mine.

Interests

I enjoy cooking a good meal, sharing a bottle of wine, ragging on our buffoon of a president, and trading music, stories, and recipes. I like to meet people of other cultures and share experiences. I love to scuba dive, hike, and explore new cities.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to cook and have a treasure trove of southern recipes passed down from my grandfather that I'd be happy to share! Or if you're learning or already speak French I'd love to have someone to practice with.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My mom taught me to never show up to someone's home empty handed, so I can at least promise a decent bottle of wine, or a home cooked meal. This trip, I will be coming from New Orleans, so I'm happy to bring beignet mix, hot sauce, gumbo mix, pralines or any other New Orleans treat you can think of.
