About Me

We are a Chilean family, composed by Esperanza our daughter (14), Daniel (34) and me (33). The period 2016-2017 we have lived in London for one year, coursing our Master´s degrees and now we decided to travel around the world, to live for several months knowing new people, cultures, languages, foods, from different parts of the globe.

We aim to travel by embedding ourself in new cultures in a respectful way with individuals, religions and environment and at the same time putting our skills to support the needs of our new friends.

The next year we will come back to Santiago, Chile, so, everyone is welcomed to our house!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We truly trust in the idea that collaboration among people is the way to improve this world.
Besides, the opportunity to live the culture of a place with the people is the best way to truly know a new country, not in a fully touristic environment.

Interests

Music, Movies, and Books

As a family, we love to know new music and movies related to the different places that we know, as well to share the music, rhythms, dances and movies from our region, Latin America.

About books, we have different interest:
Esperanza: I love biographic novels and romantic and mistery histories.

Daniel: I love art books, books about the sociology of technology, history and countries' books.

Isabel: I prefer books about my research field, educational policies and organizational change. Besides, I love books about the history of the countries that I know.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Decide to travel in family, having a very low budget, but trusting that we could do it through offer our talents and learnings, sharing and knowing different people, working and being creatives.

Teach, Learn, Share

Below you'll find a brief description of each interest and things that we might share :)

Hi, my name is Esperanza and I am 14 years old. I love art in general, like drawing and painting, is something that passion me and I am good at it. I love animals and interact with other people. For that reason I have been scout (explorer) in Chile and England. Also, I have worked as babysitter taking care of children and babies in my community. I love the movement of the street like the little shops, the people who make up the street with their voices and smiles; of course also the architecture and the gastronomy, the different smells, colours, the position of each vegetable and the effect that can produce to a person a little taste, I love cooking!!!

Hi! I'm Isabel, I'm Educational Psychologist and I'm an expert in Educational Planning and teacher training. Besides the above, I was a scout for a lot of years, and as we said: once scout, always a scout! I love any kind of scenics arts, to dance Latin-American music as salsa or bachata, try new dishes, to cook for the people I love and care, and to learn new things. I truly believe in the potential of the communities working together for their dreams, to solve their own problems with creativity, participation, and collaboration. For that reason, I believe in the power of the people, more than the top-down framework to make changes in the society. I enjoy making new friends, chatting with others, being in nature and collaborating with others in making this world a better place.

Hello! I´m Daniel and since I was a child I love drawing, society and people. That´s why I decided to study architecture and then to lead construction teams. I love designing places and using technologies. I also love travelling, talking with people, knowing different perspectives and learning from them as well as and teaching others my skills. I really believe the world can be improved by the people´s attitude and positive view.
