About Me

My name is (Ana) Isabel (don't really like Ana, if you meet me I'll explain to you why, funny story).
I was born in Braga, Portugal and have been leaving here my whole life. I recently moved out of my parents and rented my own (old and small but cozy) house. I live with two cats and occasionally my boyfriend is around :) IU don't live in the center of Braga but it's super close ( 6km) and there's a train stop direct to Braga or Porto next to my house (10 min from Braga, 40 min from Porto).

Update: I am now leaving with my boyfriend and we are still settling in so we are not hosting people at the moment. But please text me if you want to hang out and have someone showing you around :)

I have a degree in Electronics and Computers Engineering and a Master in Robotics, Automation and Control. Currently, I work as a researcher at the University of Minho in Guimaraes (25km from Braga).

As a Portuguese girl at her 20s coming from a low-class family, traveling only came for me when I started to work and be able to pay my expenses. The first time I left Portugal and got into a plane going to another country, that's when I fell in love with it. The freedom, the new, the curiosity, and the people! I believe traveling is all about experienced, getting out of our comfort zone and taking a piece of that with me. Above all, creating memories, learning and growing.

I am a friendly girl, open-minded and I tend to respect and accept everyone who also respects me. I am very flexible and I am always ready to meet new people and share a little bit of myself.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It started as a way of saving money, but now it is way more than that. Of course, that saving money is still one of the reasons, but I have hosted so many good people that had a great impact on my life that now I really appreciate this experience.

I am here to offer my couch to anyone who needs and would like to meet me as well and also to be able to find the same when I travel myself.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Getting into a plane for the first time in my life alone to a country I did not know, and to an unpredictable adventure.
Getting out of my parents and living alone.
Finishing a Masters Degree on Robotics.
EYP.
Traveling alone.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have a bucket list of more than 100 places I want to visit in my life. If you have some tips about more places I am always looking for suggestions.
My dream trip is to go on a backpacking trip through Asia. Still looking for the time and especially the money to do it :D

What I Can Share with Hosts

My adorable cats, some wine/beer, interesting stories, and conversations! I like to know people's origins and their stories and also share mine! I am very easy going as long as you are a respectful person :)
I can teach you how to cook Portuguese food (although at the moment I don't have an oven at the moment).
I can show you Braga, Guimaraes, Porto if I am available and have free time, but in any case, I can give you some tips about it :)
I have a car so if you need a ride somewhere I can try :)
