Overview
About Me
I was born and raised in Montevideo, the capital of Uruguay. I am an engineer in Computer Science, and I have been working in the IT world for 6 years. I also have taught classes at the University, and had a start-up two years ago.
As a typical Uruguayan I love to drink "mate", and organizing "asados" with my friends.
I am living alone since I was 25, but I go every Sunday to visit my family. I like to share my stories with them and to be with my cat called Felipe. I really love animals, especially dogs, and cats.
I am the most honest person you will ever meet, sometimes a little too much honest :P, but lying (if is not in a joking mode) is not really my thing. I love to have interesting conversations about almost everything, but mostly about social topics.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I think that is a good opportunity to meet new people, and learn in a deeply way how they live, share different points of view and learn other cultures. The new generations are trying to stop with discrimination, in all its ways, and I am sure that traveling is the better way to achieve that. You get to know their backgrounds and stories and this helps you to understand why they could act different from you, but mostly you find that we are all the same in the end.
The more you know other cultures, the more you open your mind, and that is what is needed in this world right now.

Music, Movies, and Books
Regarding my music preferences I have a wide range of them, it depends on the moment the choice I make to what to listen to. The bands/artists could include: Evanescence, Coldplay, Dido, Adele, Hereford (Uruguay), No te va gustar(Uruguay), etc.
I am a big fan of TV series, specially Game of Thrones :)
I also watch: Homeland, Outlander, Downton Abbey, The Crown, Girlboss, The white queen, etc.
I am not really a book person, but now I am trying to read the GOT saga, and I am really liking the "reading-thing" now.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One amazing thing could've been a personal project that I developed with a couple of friends were we build a system called Q'look. It consisted of a booking service for beauty salons in Uruguay. It didn't worked out as we expected, but we learned a lot and it was and amazing experience.
In this year (2017) me and a friend will be searching to live an other kind of experience, quiting our jobs and going to travel around Europe for a year. Not only do we want to visit all the amazing places that are over there, but also get to know their cultures and people. I think that travelling is the new way to learn and become a better person, discovering the different realities everyone is living and that maybe there is more that only one 'truth' in a situation.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love teaching!
I was a teacher at the University for 5 years, and I've really loved that job.
I can teach you some computing basics and help you improve your Spanish :)
What I Can Share with Hosts
I could share some interesting talks with a couple of beers or some "mates" if you are up for it.
Even that I am not a great cooker, I like to prepare some healthy recipes, so I can share some ideas.
If you are learning Spanish, we can practice a wide variety of topics so you can get a lot of vocabulary and improve your pronunciation.
