Overview
About Me
I am a chilean citizen who has always loved traveling, I studied Cultural History and for more than 15 years I have work mostly in education and tourism.
I currently live in New Zealand, where I managed a hostel for over 3 years, until April 2019, then I visited my home country and now I am about to start a 3 months trip around Europe (June to August 2019)
I love sports and reading, geography and arquitecture, walking around cities discovering the way local inhabitants live their lives and finding good spots to have coffee, taste beers and try the local food... this are my true passions!
I am active, friendly and open to meet new interesting, fun people. I am also honest, clean and tidy and I will make sure I will be a good, respectful guest.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I opened up my account around 5 years ago, expecting to host people to be able to meet travelers and make my life more interesting, because at that time my work was so busy that I could not travel so much myself...I still did, but only short trips :-) At the end, I could not host people because I left my apartment to start traveling, first, I did a few trips in my own country and then I left Chile to go to beautiful New Zealand, where I have been living until now, that I am a few months away to start my solo Eurotrip.
I want to visit Holland, Belgium, Germany, Austria, Hungary and Croatia. I am planing to stay around 2 weeks in each country, except for Germany where I want to spend at least 1 month. Last year I visited Germany for only 2 weeks and I fell in love with the country!
This is why I decided to update my Couchsurfing account, so I could find not only where to stay but also get the chance to share my travel experience with others. I have to be honest, save in some accommodation is part of my goal, but it is not only that! For me is more important to meet locals and other travelers to make the most of my trip and hopefully create amazing memories of this adventure. Looking forward to meet you all!

Music, Movies, and Books
Rock and electronic music.
I am not a big fan of movies, but I do love to watch movies filmed on the countries I am visiting, because I think is a great way to get to know the local culture, mentality and history.
I like to read all sort of essays about contemporary cultural history and I am a big fan of thrillers, specially legal ones.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
In 2008 I crossed the Andes Mountain range from Chile to Argentina in an old pick up truck trough the highest point that cars can do, at almost 15.000 feet... it took us around 10 hours driving and allowed me to see one of the most unbelievable landscapes I've ever seen... The crossing was so hard on the car that we had to drive hundreds of kilometers further south to be able to cross through a lower pass... we had to change our travel plans, we got sick and the car was broken, but I would certainly do it again!! Sweet adventure memories!
Teach, Learn, Share
I can certainly teach you some Spanish if you are interested :-), I would love to learn your language too!
I am very keen on improving my English, as well as help you with your English if you wish, I am not bilingual, but fluent enough if you want some help/practice with yours.
I want to learn as much as possible of the countries I am visiting, I am very opened to all sorts of activities that can teach me about the local culture, and I would love having good talks about your town/country way of living, culture and history. I am also super keen on sharing some of the chilean and other south american countries own culture/history.
I can also share all the information I have about New Zealand that is my home now. If you are planning to go to that side of the world I can give you all the tips I have accumulated over almost 4 years living there.
I can also share my experience regarding hosting! I hosted more than 700 hundred mid/long term guests from more than 50 countries over more than 3 years, as a hostel manager at Jacks Backpacker (in Blenheim, NZ)
I can help you with house work for sure! I am someone that believes that to take something from the "system" you should always put something back into the "system", so feel free to use some of my time for domestic tasks of any kind! I really don't mind at all, it would actually make me feel good if I can help you somehow.
I would be happy to shout some meals, beers or coffee, I am all about sharing!
Overall, I am happy to share my time with you and I would like to not only use your couch but some of your time, even if is only little, so we can both make the best out of our host/guest experience.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I think I have said most of it in the previous point.
Feel free to ask any questions about myself or my travel plans.
