About Me

I am originally from California. For the last couple of years I lived in Washington (Olympic National Park, Orcas Island, and Seattle). Now I live in Los Angeles and go to school for urban planning.

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to everything from indie to folk to rap to rock and roll. The only genres I don't listen to much are electronic and metal.

My favorite author is L.M. Montgomery. I read a lot of post-modern fiction, romance, and some science fiction. As far as non-fiction, I'm more likely to pick up musician autobiographies or science books.

I like comedies, music documentaries, and anything that isn't a sequel or based on a book.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I raised sea urchins, sea stars, sand dollars, and sea cucumbers from fertilization to metamorphosis. Once metamorphosed, I returned them to the ocean. So there could be an urchin or starfish out there that I created completely!

I personally know an astronaut! Which isn't an amazing thing I've personally done but, I mean, I reached out to her and now I am on a texting basis with her.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm Mexican American and I enjoy sharing that aspect of myself through food, music, and anything else. I am also an environmental science educator and love talking about science or wilderness or animals.

I love to read and enjoy talking about books.

I'm great at trivia and competed nationally in a Quiz Bowl Tournament a few years ago.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I also make really good enchiladas! I'm happy to cook/bake for my host, particularly recipes they've heard of but have never had the chance to try. I'm a good baker, and I specifically bake when I can bake for others.
