I love the idea of not only seeing a city and its sights, but also staying with someone who lives there istead of simply booking a hotel/hostel. The people living in a city belong to it as much as every building, monument or landscape - and exploring the city may sometimes be far more interesting with some personal background information, special tips and recommendations you got before :)
