About Me
Hi!
My name is Isabella and I’m an 18-year old student from France and England. My dad is French and Brazilian and my mum is English. I was born in London and have been living in the North of France since I was five. Bilingual in English/french and fluent (but clumsy) in Spanish and Portuguese, I am passionate about learning and understanding foreign cultures.
Next year I will be studying law in London, but will often return to my home city.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm on Couchsurfing because I want to be free and allow others to travel freely around the world and feel safe. My family has always valued open-mindedness and I have grown to love visiting unusual places and meeting surprising people. However, travelling is expensive and I believe that between travellers it is important to stand up for each other - that's why I am open to welcome other travellers to my home.

Music, Movies, and Books
I’m a passionate musician : guitar, piano, ukulele, singing, always down to jam or have some musical experiences! Some of my favourite artists are Jack Johnson, Coldplay, Mac DeMarco Amy Winehouse, Rex Orange County, Tim Maia, Sampha, Kasabian, Norah Jones and many more- I like any song, from any genre, just as long as it sounds beautiful.
Theatre, drama, literature also play a major role in my life. I've been a drama nerd my whole life, being in theatre class for 10 years and improvisation club for 5. In love with Shakespeare, I have also thoroughly enjoyed plays by Edward Bond, Arthur Miller, Euripides... It's difficult to name a favourite book but amongst the ones I adored reading the most are The Bluest Eye by Toni Morrison, The Girl Who Saved The King of Sweden by Jonas Jonasson, The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger, The Bell Jar by Silvia Plath.
I also enjoy jogging, yoga, field hockey and horse riding. Being outside, getting some fresh air is one of my favourite things to do. I’m an avid animal lover, having had many family pets and work experience in a vet clinic.
My favourite movies are Interstellar, Lion and 10 things I hate about you.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Although there isn't a specific experience that comes to mind, I would say that the most amazing thing that I've done was travel alone to Brazil, without speaking the language. For more than a month I got to meet my family, travel around with a vet and care for dogs, horses, cats. Meeting people, learning about the culture, living at the speed of the Brazilians was truly life-changing. I cried when I accomplished the thing on top of my bucket list: seeing the Christ Corcovado for the first time because I was so overwhelmed after waiting so long to see it. Thinking back to that summer in 2016, and then the next summer in 2017 when I went back, has made it clear that travelling to Brazil is the most amazing thing I've done.
However, one "cool" thing that I've done is jamming with a rock band in a bar. I've done this several times whilst on holiday but the most exciting time was in Bali where I was able to follow a band around for a week and play with them during several occasions in different bars.
Teach, Learn, Share
I am a very curious person, always interested in understanding how people think, learn and understand things. I would be very glad to share someone's routine, especially if is very different to mine!
I'm difficultly uncomfortable, would love to share some unusual and fun experiences!
I adore cooking and would gladly cook for you or with you!
What I Can Share with Hosts
My mum is an English teacher and I have often tutored students from my school in French, maths and English - thus I am willing to give language lessons (English, French, Portuguese, Spanish).
Having played the guitar for more than 10 years, I can also teach you a few songs!
Also, I am very willing to care for children and pets, having a lot of experience babysitting (two little brothers aged 4 and 5) and with animals.
