About Me

I grew up in Sydney, Australia and never left until I decided to take a leap of faith and go to the States for college. I love it when nights are warm and people are kind and the wine is flowing. I hope to be a published writer some day, but until then I'm happy to learn and travel as far as I can.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

a new way to meet complete strangers that is slightly less creepy than online stalking.

Interests

I had a complicated and unhappy upbringing, so I'm a real advocate for mental health and supporting each other emotionally. Books have given me happiness, as well as electronic music and running/hiking. i'd like to contribute meaningful to other people in my career - not an entirely altruistic thing, I just enjoy the feeling of being connected to people in a way that is meaningful.

Music, Movies, and Books

Right now I'm in a deep house, techno phase and am listening to Flume, Odesza, Chet Faker, Ryan Elliot, Kygo, What So Not, Cashmere Cat, Pillowtalk, Diplo.. but I'll have days when I'll return to the band of my youth, The Maine.

The Shawshank Redemption, American Beauty and Blue Valentine are movies that stuck me with for a while.

Stephen King is a guilty pleasure, but I love Hemingway, Arundhati Roy, Alice Munroe and Junot Diaz.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I just like talking to people from different walks of life, so I try to push myself to be as open as possible. I organized a poetry-writing workshop for strangers in London, where everyone could express themselves, and it was an amazing night with new friends.

What I Can Share with Hosts

my company and conversation, some funny stories, but mostly I like listening to your life and how you grew up. I also can cook some Chinese cuisine!

Countries I’ve Visited

China, Czech Republic, England, India, Italy, Netherlands, New Zealand, Northern Ireland, Scotland, Singapore, United States
