About Me
Hey guys, I’m Isabella, 26 years old, and the same as probably all people on Couchsurfing – I love traveling AND meeting new people. Currently I am a lawyer in the making in Berlin but I use all my freetime to pack my bags and go.
Apart from traveling I like sports, Photography and reading. But don’t think I’m a couchpotatoe – I also love going out to bars or clubs; if I hear music it’s hard to stop my feet from moving. I also love to learn new languages and even though I might not be fluent I always try to get part of my conversation in the language I am currently trying to learn. This time it is Italian – I have not spoken Italian in years but I am sure it will all come back to me once I hear people around me speak it!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
This year I want to make a small trip through Toscany. I have heard from Couchsurfing a lot but there was never really a chance to try it, so this year I thought I would seize my chance. I feel l ike the best way to get to know a city or a country is to get to know its people, to hear what their favorite cafés or clubs are and how they like to spend their freetime. Therefore I would totally love to stay with you for a couple of nights and get to know la dolce vita!
Interests
As I mentioned above, there are a lot of things that I like to do. Basically, there is probably not one thing I would not at least try...
- photography
- dining
- cooking
- baking
- clubbing
- reading
- traveling
- socializing
- music
- sports
- languages
Music, Movies, and Books
My favorite music – that’s difficult to say. I listen to a lot of house and pop music, but I can’t really focus my Music interest on only one thing – my interests are just too diverse for that. One of my favorite movies is Babel – it is so intense and shows you how the world is so interconnected! I am also a huge James Bond fan and when I watch „In Bruges“ (where I actually did my masters degree) I just cannot stop laughing. When it comes to reading some of my favorite authors are Sandor Marai, Stefan Zweig and Christian Kracht.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
After I finished high school I traveled around the world by myself for eight months. It is incredible how fast you meet people when traveling, I was really surprised!! I started in Asia, stopping in Nepal, Cambodia and Vietnam. Then I took the plane to explore Australia and New Zealand, stopping at some South Pacific islands like Samoa and Fiji (most amazing places I have ever seen!). My last stop took me to the good old United States. I wish I could do a trip like that every year!
What I Can Share with Hosts
Well what could I share with you? I could share a bunch of my traveling experiences or other funny stories from University life. Of course I would be totally happy to teach you some German or cook some German food for you. Even better than cooking would be baking, I guess... if you give me a chance to use your oven I could make you some amazing brownies!
Overall I hope that both you and I will have an interesting experience of getting to know different cultures and maybe also some fun by exploring the city together if you choose to let me sleep on your couch :)
