One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Spending three weeks -including X-mas and New-year 2000- with a swiss friend guy in Cuba. I knew backpacking and spanish. He was a pro percussionist ! Which allowed us to spent 10 days in a family in La Havana and 10 days in another family in Playa de la Juventud... We drank cofea and rum, smoke brown tobacco and cigars, and danced with people between 4 and Lord- knows-what-age, from mornings to nights ! I loved waiting in the comunist lines for coffea and sugar and rice and beans, sharing the simple joys of simple peoples... I kinda envied their community way of living, so far from what I experiend in my home town...
