About Me
Hey there!🖐
Nice to meet you!😄
I'm Isabelle, 28 years old from Groningen, Netherlands. I am a calm and thoughtful, social person. I love to work with people, that's why I'm a dietician for my job. I help people form a better bond with themselves and create a balance between mental and physical health. I think this is the most beautiful job!🥰
I just love to travel. It's in my blood to keep trying new things and challenging myself. Also to meet new people, try different foods and see the beautiful nature from all around the world! 🌎
With friends or couchsurfers I like it both to have an interesting philosophical conversation or just to do something crazy and new! And both just relaxing and enjoying peace or doing something active. I like the variation😁
At home I like to go running twice a week. Also I like going for a walk, swimming, cycling and riding the scooter. I'm not super experienced with hiking but I like to do this in my own pace. Also, I tried some rock climbing recently and I think its really cool!! Beside that in the past I did horseriding, badminton and ballroom dancing.
Also I like cooking, watching series (my faves are Better Call Saul and Stranger Things), watching movies, playing a board or card game, doing make up, taking photos, drinking coffee..
Oh and I LOVE cats🐈 😻 🐈⬛️
And from time to time have a beer or cocktail 😁 go to the bar or club
So.... if you would like to host me or hangout just 1 day, feel free to hit me up!!! And of course I will write a good reference if it was fun 😉
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Whenever I am in a new place, I think the best way to get to know this place is trough the local people. They can show me their way of living, their culture, their interests and their way of thinking. I like to adjust and see how it is to live in that area. Also, I love to exchange my life and traveling experiences with other people and hear their stories. For me it is a way to continue developing as a person, I can learn to interact with different personalities and see things from different perspectives. Traveling and meeting new people has made me a more flexible, open minded and curious person 😊
I also like to meet other travelers as they can also tell me about their culture and maybe I can meet them again in our home countries. And we can spend nice days together exploring the area and share local foods 😁
Whenever travelers are in my city, I can show them around and take them to the best places here.

Books:
I didn't read for years, but I started reading books again recently! My favorite books so far were "Felix, the Railway Cat" by Kate Moore (the cat is so cute 😍) and "Fulltime Avonturier" by Tamar Valkenier (about how she cycled from the Netherlands to Turkey).
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I got bitten by a street dog in Malaysia, then walked 20 minutes to the doctors office in the blazing sun and then I took the wrong bus home and ended up waiting for the right bus for 40 minutes next to a graveyard. 😆
Ok, that was not so amazing. But that's also part of traveling🤣
Witnessing wild Proboscis monkeys, Sunbears and Orangutangs in Borneo was amazing!😍
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share with you an interesting/philosophical conversation about any topic in life. I like to share my perspective and hear from you and learn from that.
I can tell you fun stories about my life or my traveling experiences 😁
I like to joke around too. I don't take everything too serious either 🙃
We can do fun activities like sightseeing, museums, cycling, walking, hiking, swimming, horse riding..
We can relax and stay at home with some snacks and a movie...
I can do Dutch or international cooking for you 🍝🍳 (I personally don't like Dutch cuisine lol. I am better at cooking a nice pasta, making vegetarian hamburgers or wraps😋. But if you are curious, I can make a Dutch soup or mashed potatoes).
If you are the type of person for that, I'm also up for a drink🍻 and dancing 🕺 💃
I always leave your house clean, the same that is was (or cleaner 😄🤭) and I am careful with your stuff. I am grateful for anyone that wants to open up their house and personal space for me. I won't touch any of your personal belongings, or take your food, only when you tell me that I'm allowed to.
If you host me, then I hope we can become good friends 🤗💗 And that we can meet in my hometown too!!
