Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
enjoy life and be as good as I can to my family, my relationships and the planet
ABOUT ME
Teaching English, raising my two teenage daughters half-time and my baby boy full-time, enjoying life in my recently finished strawbale house, playing the piano, hiking in the countryside, reading, dancing (I'm a big Biodanza fan !!), riding or just being with horses, and I try to live as ecologically-friendly as I can...
PHILOSOPHY
Philosophy means experience to me, feeling things instead of talking about them... I discovered that no matter what I'm doing, it's how I'm doing it, in what state of mind, which makes my like miserable or extatic (not so easy everyday but I try !).
My most inspirational writers in that field, true companions on the way, are Eckhart Tolle, Katie Byron, Soeur Emmanuelle, and Donald N. Walsh - eternal thanks to them !
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm quite willing to offer a couch because I find this couchsurfing concept so refreshing and uplifting in our individualistic, over-consuming, profit-orientated world - and I like the idea of non-direct reciprocity.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Mostly as a hostess, with only amazing experiences, and twice as a guest in Italy.

Music, Movies, and Books
so many !
music : I play every kind of style from classical to jazz standards and songs on my piano, my favourites being... let's see : Mozart, Chopin, Fauré, Ravel... Gershwin, Sarah Vaughan, Michel Petrucciani... Trenet, Pink Martini, Adele, Eva Cassidy, Irish music, Bob Marley, Shantel (achhh, Disko Boy !) salsa...
films : some of my cult movies would be American Beauty, Trainspotting, Monty Python, Harold and Maude, The Graduate (le Lauréat), Little Big Man, Titanic, Avatar, a lot of French films (the Francis Veber for ex), British comedies, Into the Wild, Gladiator, Geisha, Moulin Rouge, Romeo + Juliet, Billy Elliot... too many actually...
books : again, too many (now that I have time to read again). At the moment, Douglas Kennedy, Jonathan Coe, Jeffrey Eugenides (Middlesex), Fred Vargas (L'Armée Furieuse)...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Leaving my country for a full academic year at 20 years old, thanks to the Erasmus Program - loved England (Reading University), though I really feel more comfortable when I live as much in the South as possible...
I did bungee-jumping twice, first as a challenge and the second time to try to feel it more in detail (actually I liked the first time more... anyway I couldn't feel at all like a bird, just a stupid stone hurling down towards the ground !) : a gigantic fear to overcome, a totally crazy thing to ask of your body and mind, in a marvellous natural place (in the Gorges du Verdon). It gave me immense self-confidence.
