About Me
Current Status: Just finished walking the Pacific Crest Trail from Mexico to Canada and now in VC about to make my way back down the West Coast to catch my flight. Adjusting back to real life is strange!
General mission: Explore as many mountain ranges as possible in the coming years. Eyes on Northern Japan, Southern Argentina (Patagonia), and Nepal/India.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've enjoyed the benefits of staying with locals before i even knew what coachsurfing was. I've been privileged enough to offer that back to other travelers and chance-meeting-friends in a few places from Manchester, UK to Melbourne, Australia. I've loved connecting with strangers, allowing synchronicities to bring people and opportunities together you could never predict. Some of my greatest friends have been too-short encounters with coachsurfers. I love this community, i love picking up hitch hikers, i love having faith that we are all human and have our own story. I love being open to new perspectives and reminders that we are all in our own bubble and its only as small as we make it.
Interests
I love to walk, go to the beach or a cafe with good coffee or up in the ranges around some trails. Or wander around the city on a hot evening to find good music and slow drinks. Urban exploration has given me some unforgettable nights, as well as last minute dashes out into nature to decompress from the city.
I like finding dingy bars with dark beers on the brisky nights. Walking down the gardens on the warmer nights. The occasional weekend away for a doof festival followed by some self indulgent recovery days before hopping on the bike and heading to work via some sort of quick and healthy foodstop.

Music, Movies, and Books
Favourite books recently have lent towards non fiction adventure recounts from explorers, mountaineers, rock climbers, thru-hikers and historical stories of those who've created the backcountry/outdoors associations and reserves that we use now. Also great books such as The Power of Now, and the Dharma Bums.
When i get the chance to watch TV i'll love anything like 30 Rock, Parks and Recreation, Arrested Development, An Idiot Abroad, Suits, Extras.
I'm pretty much guaranteed to love anything with John Cusack or made by Pixar.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
It's a bit obvious, but walking the Pacific Crest Trail for six months was one of my favourite journeys. I'd also say learning how to balance life by creating things, learning how to build and how to love cooking. I also nearly summited a 20,000+ ft mountain in South America. I did summit Whitney a couple months ago, a falling rock knocked my friend down an iced switchback, i'd love to hike the Himalayas and Hokkaido.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'd happily help anyone with their English, and would love to share some Spanish conversations. If you can deal with someone pretty rusty from a few lessons in the UK, La Paz, and a couple months of vaguely successful conversations in South America. I've also got a mild cooking obsession and a general love of feeding people.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Other than a place to crash and undoubtedly some food. I've also got access to some bikes and skateboards, as well as a car for potential trips down the Great Ocean Road or similar. My apartment is in Prahran, about 15 minutes from the popular Chapel street and 10 mins from the train station or 2 mins from the tram into the city. We've got a balcony with a great view of the city and the ocean with some powerful fans to battle the heat. Unfortunately no wifi though! I know, terrible.
