Overview
About Me
My name is Isadora, but you can call me Isa. I'm an architect and urbanist from Brazil, who loves to travel, read, watch movies and cook. Currently, I live in Belo Horizonte, a beautiful city in Minas Gerais, Brazil. My main occupation is my research fellowship in Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais, one of the best universities in Brazil. I study the representation of space and architecture in Latin American literature.
Back in 2015, I had one of the greatest experiences of my life: an entire year living and studying in Kingston University, London. It was definetly one of the greatest years I ever had and since then, I've been dreaming to come back and visit.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I find Couchsurfing one of the best ways to really get to know a city and its people. As an architect, it is incredibly interesting to have the experience of staying in a local dwelling and not in a standard hotel room. To stay in local homes is a true privilege and an unique opportunity to see the habits and particular ways of doing things in each location/culture. That is trully priceless.
And speaking of priceless, of course there is also the financial issue: couchsurfing made travelling possible for me even if I'm just a recently graduated architect living in a developing country. I'm here also to offer the same opportunity to other people from around the world.

Music, Movies, and Books
Jorge Luis Borges, Jane Austen, Ursula Le Guin, Carlos Drummond de Andrade, Elvira Vigna, Conceição Evaristo are some of my favorite authors. My favorite movies are The secret Life of Words, directed by Isabel Coixet, and Call me by your name, by Luca Guadagnino. I also love Brazilian cinema and could recommend a long list of movies! I listen to all kinds of music, but MPB (Brazilian popular music) is my favorite genre.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Lived for a year in London, fulfilling a lifelong dream; hopped on a bus to Dublin on a Christmas eve just to see a Glen Hansard concert (that was already sold out) (yep, somehow I managed to get in!); graduated from Architecture and Urbanism school and started my reasearch fellowship in UFMG; dived on a Greek beach after 11 years without touching salt water; published my first paper on a dutch scientific journal.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share my knowledge about Brazilian culture (music, movies, language, history, food) and also try to cook the most loved Brazilian dessert: brigadeiro! My architecture degree can also come in handy if you want to make little changes around the house :)
