Vivo en un velero en bellingham Washington, es increíble está vida no hay un vista mejor que el puesto del sol desde un barco. Navego los islas de San Juan (en el mar "salish") y vivo en un manera económico y bueno para el clima. Todo la electricidad uso es de mi panel de sol. No pago arrienda y no uso demasiado agua.

Cuando no estoy en mi casa, soy estudiante con un título en antropología y cinematagraphia. Me gustan los documentales y me encanta grabar. Mi especialización es en antropología de medicina. Las interacciones entre los doctores y la gente de todas culturas es muy interesante a mi. Las problemas de comunicar y las cosas podemos aprender desde la interacciones.

Para trabajar yo hacía muchas cosas. En el verano soy un pescador de salmón en Alaska. En el barco mi trabajo es ser chef y también pescador. Es mucho trabajo sin descanso. El resto del año mi trabajo es ser asistente de enfermera. Esto trabajo es difícil, triste y muy importante. Trabajo en un asilo de ancianos. Los ayudo en todas cosas: comer, usar el baño, poner ropa. También ellos son mis amigos y son muy importante a mi. De vez en cuando alguien se muere y necesito ayudar en esto también. Hasta recientemente era un instructor de escalado y trabajaba en un gimnasio. Me encanta enseñar y compartir escalar con la gente. He escalado todo mi vida y es un pasión para mi.

Ahora viajando por un año acá en colombia pero cuando regreso a Bellingham voy a estudiar para ser médico. Mi sueño es para abrir un clinica en los Estados Unidos para servir a la gente sin dinero y que no puede hablar inglés. Esto es muy importante por que en los Estados Unidos medicina es muy costoso y también es difícil para encontrar un traductor.

I live in a sailboat in bellingham washington, it's incredible. There is no better view than a sunset from a boat. I get to sail in the islands in the Salish sea and live in a way that is good for the environment and also for my wallet. I get all my electricity from my solar panels and don't pay rent because I love in the bay. Also living on a boat makes you very conscious of how much water you are using I am able to conserve a lot of water on my boat!

When I'm not sailing the islands I'm a student. I have my bachelors in anthropology and film. I will take any excuse to go shoot some film or watch a great documentary. My specialization in school was in medical anthropology which is an area of study surrounding the interactions of western medicine with different people who either have different cultural healing practices. Or have been historically underserved or abused by the medical practice. Medical anthropology encourages us to look at the communication barriers that block effective healing and trust between the medical system and actual people.

I've worked in an array of jobs. During the summers I work as a salmon fisherman up in alaska. On the boat I am both the cook and also a regular deck hand which means that I am always working and don't get to take many breaks. The rest of the year I work as a certified nursing assistant in a skilled nursing facility. This work is super important but also extremely difficult. I help my residents with everything they might need from eating to going to the bathroom to putting on clothes. These people are very important to me and become my friends. The hardest part of my job is watching people die. Then when they do helping the rest of the community grieve and move on. Until very recently I worked as a climbing instructor and setter. I have climbed my whole life and I love to teach and share this passion of mine.

Right now I am traveling for a year in Colombia. I am trying to learn the language and enjoy a year break from my studies to realize a lifetime dream. When I return I will be starting the path to becoming a doctor. My dream is to open a clinic serving poor and underserved communities. Especially people who can't speak english well because finding a good medical translator is hard in the states.
