PHILOSOPHY
- "Little things make the sum of life"
- "Not on straight roads, but on winding pathes you'll find life"
- "Wo kämen wir denn hin, wenn jeder fragte: "Wo kämen wir denn hin?", und niemand ginge, um zu sehen wohin man käme wenn man ginge"
- "The most beautiful and most important is not expressable in words. It's suddenly there, a glance, a smile, a silence. A nothing which says everything."

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
- travel around New Zealand: Breathtaking scenery and incredibly generous and friendly people. The natur provides everything you could ever dream of: Ocean (with whales and dolphins), beaches, bush, volcanoes (volcanic seceneries with gorgeous shapes, colours and rock formations), sanddunes, mountains (to ski and hike), rivers, fjords, lakes (hot and cold ones) and Geysirs; just amazing!!
- During my stay Bosnia and Herzegovina I made the acquaintance of former soldiers and leaders of the Bosnian army who fought during the war (1992-1995) as well as I made a good and deep contact and friendship with my host family there, who lived 3 years in fear, helplessness, continuous bombing by the Serbians, and in a lack of food, electricity, water and other goods during the war. Even if I still could see the traces of the war everywhere (bombed streets and houses and heaps of mined areas) and even if I heard so many true stories and experiences in direct contact with the people there, I could hardly imagine the situation and the cruelty they were living in. It seemed as if it was far away, as if it happened many, many years ago, I couldn’t believe that it just happened a bit more than 10 years ago. It reminded me of the stories which I read in the books in my history lessons in school. However, talking to them affected me very differently; while listening to their own words and seeing their facial expressions and eyes. I became totally caught up in the discussion, asking them question after question. It was very interesting to know how they managed to survive during the 3 years, how they tried hard to live their “normal” life they had been used, just to get distracted, and it's amazing how they rebuilt their village within the last few years.
It’s amazing how these people manage to live a “normal”, happy life again, after having experienced so much hate and sadness, sharing their happiness, experience and great hospitality with me. It made me think about war and the fact what human beings are able to do to other people. It also made me think of my own childhood, in which I grew up, happily and safe without experiencing any war or disease. I was wondering how my own future children and the ones I’m teaching at school will experience our world in the future… There are a lot of immigrated children from the eastern part of Europe in the classes here in Switzerland; I look at them now with completely different eyes.

Teach, Learn, Share
There are only two days in the year that nothing can be done. One is called yesterday and the other is called tomorrow. So today is the right day to love, believe, do and mostly live. (Dalai Lama)
Life is not measured by the breaths we take, but by the moments, that take our breath away.
El que queria saber enseguida todo, que abra el libro por el otro lado.
No es lo mismo saberlo, que tragarlo.
