ABOUT ME
This year I am on a Dostoevsky reading marathon!! I want to read all of his books, live ten more years of life, and read them all all over again! I love women who smoke in black and white movies (Garbo!! Felini!!) and the happy endings of MGM musicals from the early 1900s. I love to cook, and will exchange a Mexican, Japanese quagmire recipe with anyone who is interested. Hor dòeuvres are my forte and tapas my dream! I love walking and will ignore the transportation system of most cities for the joy of getting places by foot. I walk fast, am short, and love myself for it! In study, I have immersed myself in the fields of continental philosophy, post colonial theory, and art, all of which will never make me money! I love to discuss things, criticize the hell out of an opinion and be proven wrong also. For me, nothing can be more thrilling than a great conversation!!
PHILOSOPHY
Come and ask me personally. We will have to have a drink over this one!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
My Couch Surfing Experience began with a bang in the South of Spain! Granada and the Sierra Nevada. I have since encountered many Couch Surfing friends in Japan, Mexico, and Brazil.
Interests
What grabs my attention?
Buster Keaton, Jean-Paul Belmondo, Rodion Raskolnikov, and Friedrich Hundertwasser! I love the exquisite experience of being in the exact spot described in a book, reading it and walking it,historical or fiction. Feeling the rippling reflections of the past reproduced in the present. Borges, Through the Looking Glass, Kundera, Derrida. I love feeling small beside a big, breathing animal. I love to eat and swim in the culinary techniques of flavors unknown. I love a little wine with the air I breath together with a nice conversation.

All of Kurosawa (classical), Felini (Mastroianni), MGM (Singing in the Rain).
Black Cat White Cat, Amores Perros, Murder by Death, and Totoro.
I love Bella Bartok, Ravi Shankar, Odetta, and the Supremes. Beck, Iggy Pop , Dylan, and Nico.
I read Mikhail Lermontov, Fyodor Dostoyevsky, Amos Tutuola, and Kafka. Borges, Kundera, and A. A. Milne.
I want to read more, see more and listen to bands I do not know of.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Deprived of oxygen and wet to the skin, I looked up to see before me the city of Machu Picchu emerging from under a cloak of clouds. The rain and a blue sky in one shot. It was not because of the oxygen, but I could not breath.
Teach, Learn, Share
I am a language teacher by trade. I teach English and Japanese, writing, reading, and conversation. The world I share consists of the miraculous culinary pleasures in life. I create and build food. I construct edible environments. I invite stories and debates. I take photos. I share the moment and I share the memory.
