About Me
New to this community, but I've been travelling for over a decade :)
Avid traveller, explorer and flagbearer of great times.
I make films, take pictures and write for a living. A major part of my work includes research, non-fiction, fiction, and exploring new places. (Instagram: @ishansadwelkar to get an idea of some of the work I do)
I believe in good communication and being clear, honest so that people of different cultures can come together to form great experiences. Not here to use people or cause trouble. No bad vices or addiction apart from cooking/eating food that gets you totally full and filling the room with sarcasm.
Looking to connect with some genuine people who can help me travel across places I haven't explored! I will try my best to be of help. See you around :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Here to meet genuine people who'd like to share their space with a neat, no-trouble-causing traveller who will ensure that he leaves behind good memories and food (me). Would love to learn about your culture and life!

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: I'm a film student with 2 hard drives filled with world cinema :)
Music: Almost all types of jazz, blues, funk. Used to be a lead guitarist so my influenced range from experimental jazz, progressive metal to classical. I listen to everything from Jamiroquai, Snarky Puppy to Miles Davis and Sixto Rodriguez. Always on the lookout for new music - currently I'm enjoying post-rock, synthwave and modern swing.
Books: Ugh, this is a tough one. My answer would be the same as the films answer. Poetry, fiction, non-fiction.
Rainer Maria Rilke, Fernando Pesssoa, Marcel Proust, Orhan Pamuk, Julio Cortazar... it's a nice, long list.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Trekked to the last village on the border of India and China in the snow, lived with locals and documented vultures, ecology and rare cultures.
I also cooked a whole stew on an induction pan in my friend's village once - with about, er, 27 spices.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Knowledge about the fields I work in - film, literature, history. Cooking hacks, space hacks and lots of laughter.
