About Me

I've been traveling the world solo on-and-off since I was 19. I look at traveling as a way to recenter my own energy, and as a way to be open to the connections that the Universe has in line for me. After living in Haiti for a year as a yoga and meditation instructor I decided to move to Oakland, California because of its historical significance for black liberation.

I've been living in Oakland for a year and I have found a healthy community of artists, creators, philosophers, liberators and people who are A L I V E. I give many thanks for that. In the midst of my time here, I have directed films, curated art events, and now I work as an advocate for young women who are survivors of sex trafficking. I love my life very much and I am almost certain it's because I sincerely love people. I think we all want the same thing in life... joy, love, ecstasy. If we look at our mistakes as beautifully human, we will find much more charm than pain in the world around us.

I consider myself a socially skilled introvert... which means that I can be the life of the party when I feel like it, but I prefer to listen, watch and learn more than anything-- especially while traveling. I founded a movement called MLNNHeal where I work with groups across the African Diaspora to highlight our beauty and resilience. I am a deeply loving and spiritual being. I can talk about anything from memes to political theory to tales of love lost and found.

I'm excited to meet people who look at the world with similar softness as me, even if that softness is expressed differently. I love to laugh, dance, sing, joke, swim, meditate do yoga and more. <3

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Looking for beach buddies, museum friends and hammock hang outs with fun people!

I spent 3 months in Brazil in 2015. In November 2019 I couldn't stop thinking of going back. I mean... it was in my dreams, I was hearing it on the radio, I was listening to Milton Nascimento on repeat.... then some friends of mine told me about the Lavagem do Bonfim and the Festa Iemenja and I knew I had to go (even though I couldn't see where the $$$ would come from HA!). Somehow things pulled together (a story to talk about later) and now I'll be in Salvador from January 14-February 8th.

I'm on Couchsurfing now because I think I am supposed to be. I believe that every interaction we have with each other (whether that be from you reading this right now or us hugging in person later) is divinely orchestrated. Every connection shows us parts of ourselves. If our paths cross we have something to learn + share with each other.
