About Me

CURRENT MISSION
I don't live in Amsterdam
Lisboa it is for now. and the road mostly.

Having and sharing adventures while learning the things I really want to learn. Meet different people around the world and get to know their stories :). Express and share stories through music, dance, drawing and writing. Being more flexible with the unexpected changes in life...!

I am a singer and active in composing and performing in different projects. I'm interested in mixing styles and making cross-overs with other art forms (dance, fine-arts, fashion). I'm especially drawn to Carnatic Music (Classical Indian music from the South). In a travel to India I learned more about the culture and had lessons in Carnatic and Dhrupad music. So far I had carnatic lessons with a teacher in Europe.
I have been traveling to India with my boyfriend who is also a musician (didgeridoo player).

I mix styles like Jazz-Latin-Pop and Indian music. Always exploring and trying to create playfully.

ABOUT ME

I enjoy Adventure, Music, Singing, (Wind)surfing, Hitchhiking, Traveling, Nature, Drawing, Laughing (a lot), Writing, Climbing, listening to people's stories and see other ways of living.

I like to be impulsive but I am also very contemplative person (yes..pardoxal I now). I enjoy lively conversations (deep and also crazy ones) but I also like silence. The first impression I make on people is usually that I'm a shy and polite person. The politeness will stay but the shyness goes away after spending more time together ;)

PHILOSOPHY

LIVE!!!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I want to meet new people and I think the best way to experience a place is to meet locals and see the place partly through their eyes..hearing their stories and sharing a good time :).

So far I had an amazing time with my hosts in Lisbon and Porto. I also found a great new friend via CS who joined me to a festival in Portugal. Besides that I have been surfing couches outside of couchsurfing. My sister is a contemporary dancer and in the music and dance world it is pretty common to use the network of that field to find a host. So although my experience on couchsurfing is not so big yet I am an experienced couchsurfer with musicians, dancers and friends of friends! :)

please read through my home situation :)

Music, Movies, and Books

Books:The Alchemist/The hundred year old man that climbed out of the window and disappeared/Selected Poems of Rumi)/The time travelers wife..

Music: Jazz, Rock, Soul, Pop, Electronic, World music
From Radiohead via Pearl Jam to Ana Moura, Nina Simone, Trilok Gurtu, Chopin and Miles Davis...I love music!!
Greatest life music experience: I am happy to say I was often touched and by a lot of different performers: Shai Maestro Trio, Half Moon Run,Jungle By Night, Laura Mvula, Selah Sue , Kneedaelus, Brad Mehldau, Ibrahim Maalouf..

Movie: Donnie Darko,The Secret of Kells, Spirited away, documentaries ('Happy', 'Queen of the Sun', 'Trashman' ..).
But looking at thunder, lightning and storm is so much more entertaining than any movie ! and did I mention sharing stories :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Seen: The sunset and sunrise in the Desert of Morocco (Merzouga).
Thunder and lightning while sitting at a lake (near Amsterdam).
Jamming with a Rajasthan band, having no common language but music. And then in the end giving a round of Chai that we bought in a big plastic bag. (Later I discovered that they had teached me to count to 4 in Hindi ;D).

Meeting wonderful people while traveling and also near home :)

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share my knowledge of music, singing, windsurfing and hitchhiking.
I'd like to learn about permaculture because it's my dream to be able to be self sustainable one day. I'd like to learn how to play the bass guitar and improve my piano playing. I'd also like to learn more about sailing (I love to do it!!). And I'd like to learn a lot more..

I'd like to share my joy for music, dancing, nature anything!

I can teach English and singing.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Conversation, a good laugh, stories, music (singing: Jazz, Indian Singing, singing with loopstation and effects..:))
...and I can offer you my place once you'd like to visit Lisbon (or the next place where I live, I change quite often)! I live in a very nice house filled with music. The house is calm and really our home. It is in an old neighbourhood of Lisbon and we have a room full of instruments that is our working and jamming space.
