About Me

I'm Ish. I was voted, "best person to get stranded in an airport terminal with" by my med school (seriously), so, yeah.

I'm extremely chill, very easy going, very patient, very open-minded. I believe bad experiences help you appreciate good ones. I see most things in shades of gray instead of absolutes

I've worked a number of jobs in my life and I consider myself pretty well rounded: Carpenter, pharm lab researcher, bartender, a Kaplan MCAT instructor. I've taught English in China (I don't speak Mandarin, so this was a challenge), built water lines in Honduras, and provided health care in India.

Now, I'm working on becoming a doctor. I just graduated from medical school and will start residency in July 2017. What I love about studying medicine is that it is a lifelong learning experience; there is always more to learn because our understanding of it is very fluid and it is always changing and growing.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am backpacking through Europe and can't think of a better way to meet people. But this is probably the only time in the near or distant future I will have enough time off to backpack, and I need to make the most of it! Although I plan to use hostels, it will be really nice to have one on one interactions with people who are immersed in the culture and the world I am exploring.

Interests

I love making people laugh. I love traveling, exploring, experimenting, cooking, yoga, discovering new music, spending hours on Wikipedia, watching movies, playing video games, gardening, enjoying craft beers, dancing, going to music festivals
