Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Celebrating each moment and the hidden gifts that are abundant in our life.
ABOUT ME
Constantly evolving....the only constant is change. And yet, as time passes I only seem to become more who I am.
PHILOSOPHY
I am always trying to learn from every experience I have. I have learned so much from the greatest challenges in my life, they were costly but worth the wisdom.
There are lessons and beauty abundant in daily life. It is a joy and a gift to be alive, even if we forget momentarily.... My own goals are to remember this and to live it as much as I can and to share it with all those around me.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
A night layover in Maui -- which included pickup and dropoff from the airport!
10 glorious days with amazing, generous, awesome folks all over Portugal.
For many many months in Homer, Alaska I couchsurfed and housesat. So many people were so warm and welcoming and happy to share their lives. I have gained so much faith in my fellow humans from living in the largest state in the union!

Music, Movies, and Books
Of course, anything funky and soulful gets my vote -- Fela Kuti, Prince, Ray Charles... Well that and I'm oddly a sucker for accordian.
Some music you may not know about but probably should: Devotchka, Emilia Torrini, Xavier Rudd, Andrew Bird, Refugee All Stars, Red Heart the Ticker, David Berkeley, Sean Hayes, Jolie Holland, Calexico, Cinematic Orchestra.
Rilke, Hafiz, Rumi and Billy Collins are some of my favorite poets right now.
Ordinary Wolves by Seth Kantner is an amazing portrayal of changing life in the Arctic. And if you haven't read Everything is Illuminated by Jonathan Safran Foer, you should run out and buy it right away! Jeanette Winterson is always a winner.
I'm a total movie snob: some of my faves are To Be and To Have (a sweet sweet documentary about a 1 room schoolhouse in France)and The 5 Obstructions (a Lars von Trier film-game). Oh, and Amadeus!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Sky diving in Kauai!!! What a rush. I was ready to go right back up in that plane and float down in the calm and quiet overlooking Waimea Canyon.
Hearing a pack of wolves howl on a full moon solstice in western bush Alaska.
While sea kayaking off of Kodiak Island, Alaska, we were followed by harbor seals. They were the ones who wanted to check us out! What curious creatures.
White water rafting on the Zambezi was great too. You are almost guaranteed to flip at some point! Don't worry about the crocodiles: they mostly hang out on the banks...
