About Me

Trying to learn as much things as I can and hopefully getting to know myself in the process.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It started by chance, but every experience gifted me with so many rich encounters.

The trust, friendship and generosity of CS make me believe the world is full of good people.

____

What I wrote about CS when I started it in 2011 :

After 6 months I need to say that there's no experience like this. All the things this program got me to know, the secret places, the amazing people. I can only keep hosting and try to retribute what CS gave me.

In my house we hosted more than 20 people in 6 months...some of them became real friends and I'll keep them in my heart for life.

During the time of "Queima das Fitas" party, we had 16 people in the house.

Habib, Safa, Jesus, Bernard, Paul , Mathieu, Michiel, Nuno, Michel, Jelle, Clara, Rocco and Daniel, I'll never forget our days! Thanks for everything! =)

(Maybe I put a shorter description later, but now I need to thanks these people, haha!)

Interests

Lots of things I like fall in between fields.

Hopefully before I die, I'll find the recipe to bake together economics, psychology, biology and design (everything seasoned with a pinch of physics).

If I can get to learn a couple of new languages in the process, it would be a great dessert.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music : I'm not picky, I like instrumental /piano while studying. And I like music in different languages so I can challenge myself to learn the lyrics. 😊

Movies: Everything but romantic comedies. If I really like it I'll watch it endless times, search for the making of, I analyse the tech specs... Watching the movie is just the beggining of the experience. 😁

Some favs: Samsara, Rear window, the pianist, miss sunshine, the great dictator, Capitain fantastic, The big short, The departed, The silence of the lambs, Inception, Seven, Mustang, Cidade de Deus, O auto da Compadecida, Hidden figures, and more recently, Jojo Rabbit. I'm pretty sure parasite will make this list too.

Books : I love Brazilian classic litterature. I grew up reading them. I'm a big fan of the original version of fairytales, and their versions in different cultures.

Last one was amazing “vidas secas”, I'm forever halfway into Foundation, I gave up on Moby Dick and I like Harry Potter but it's a secret.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

From 17 to 24 I worked non stop to pay for one year of studies abroad. I was not expecting the return on investment to be so high.

I got to fulfill one of my dreams, studying in Paris. I traveled more than I could ever dream of. Recently I finished a M2 in Economics and now I'm learning to pole dance.

What I wrote in 2011:

I'd never took a plane before leaving Brasilia in sept. 2011. Now, thanks to couchsurfing and lots of special people, I could see around 14 countries...

I danced a lot! I never did it, so it was amazing to me!

I also have been seen lots of beautiful places in a few countries and I met some people I'll never forget.

3 days before the 2011/2 new year, I decided to go to Paris. It turned my life upside down.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Comfy place, a mean cat, nice conversations and access to music playlists I'm ashamed of. 😊
