About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I would like to live as freely and creatively as can be.

ABOUT ME

I love to travel because it encourages an open mind. When I travel, I am also reminded of other ways of living that changes my perspective on my day to day lifestyle. I learn a lot when I travel and meet new people so I figure it would be interesting to join couchsurfing. I am not sure how to really be a good host but I can say that a hosting experience with me would be a bit eccentric but still hopefully a fun and learning experience for you!

PHILOSOPHY

I try to live my life stress-free. Living in New York City has so much to offer yet offers too much :) It's a love and hate situation sometimes. That's why I like to get away when I can to live a simpler life. In city of 8 million people, or more, I find that people living and working here are too busy and concentrated on their careers and ambitions, which is great, but often an impediment to freely being open and socializing with strangers. The subway is a great hub of people being forced to be together in small units of travel however most of the time we are staring at each other or looking at a small screen. Once and a while, I get a nice conversation but that is also something I can incite myself more often. Maybe that is why I want to join couchsurfing, so that I can get outside my ordinary life here and be in "traveling friendly mode".

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I learn a lot when I travel and meet new people so I figure it would be interesting to join couchsurfing. I have some experience in letting newly met friends stay at my place. I want to create some good friendships so we can do exchanges with our homes too for when we really want to get away or visit each other in the future.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am very new and just joined couchsurfing two days ago. I can relate to couchsurfing because me and a friend of mine from out of town who was staying with me both met two people on the street who were traveling from Canada, and we let them stay over at my place. They were fellow colleagues being artists and were very fun to talk to!

Interests

I like museums, galleries, hiking, films, parks, theaters, bars, biking, walking, poetry slams, book stores, different ethnic supermarkets, vintage stores, cute neighborhoods, free concerts, free anything :).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Traveling to South America and Scandinavia for three months between June-August. I filmed a lot and went alone. I quit my 9-5 job that was a toxic and stressful environment in which nobody liked their boss. Traveling in India was pretty amazing too and would like to explore more of the Tibetan side as I have seen some of the Himalayas in the foggy mist from a hostel in Sikkim. I strive for a positive, non-material, soulfully enriching and free lifestyle so that I can feel comfortable enough to express myself however which way I please. It is not always so easy when I am not traveling, so maybe I can learn something from this site.

Teach, Learn, Share

Lately I am learning to not look at the time too much. If I do not have an appointment, I try not to concentrate on filling my time, but rather take care of things or feel things out and just act on them. If I feel like stepping outside for a walk I go out. If I feel like reading, I read, if I feel like calling a friend, I call. There are so many things I would like to do but it's just a matter of listening to what you want to do and sometimes that is hard.
