About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To meet passionate, curious individuals that inspire me.
ABOUT ME
This past year, I studied abroad at the Université de Poitiers in France. I am a French major, and I absolutely love French literature (especially French poetry--Baudelaire and Apollinaire are my favorites!). It was by far the best year of my entire life (of my 22 years, atleast :P). I LOVE traveling and meeting new people. I love the couchsurfing site because it enables me to meet like-minded people that love adventure and discovering new places.
PHILOSOPHY
Although I'm young, I've had many life experiences, and I'm comfortable with spontaneity, instability and change. I have a very positive attitude about life and I try not to let others' negativity bring me down.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I live in Paris and would love to meet up with other travelers/locals in the area. While I've taken a vacation from Couchsurfing for a year or so, I'd love to get back in and meet other travelers!!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
So far, I have couchsurfed twice--once in Athens, Greece and Toulouse, France. Both experiences were absolutely amazing. I couldn't believe just how generous my hosts were. I want to give back to the community and host others as well, once I have an acceptable accommodation. I love meeting new people and sharing my world with them.
Interests
Obviously, everyone on this site loves traveling, like myself. When I travel, I'm very fond of wine/beer tastings and exploring new areas :D As an American, I oftentimes crave an "authentic" experience while traveling--involving meeting and chatting with locals.

Music, Movies, and Books
Oof! Too many to name for this section. Maybe we can talk about it more when I meet you :)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
While I've had a lot of fun traveling around and meeting people, I guess the most gratifying experience I have had was biking around Nova Scotia in Canada for 3 weeks when I was 15 years old. I biked a total of 566 miles with the group. I never thought I could survive the whole trip, but I ended up pushing through it. At the end of the trip, I was able to bike up Cadillac Mountain in Maine. For an amateur biker like me, this was a really rewarding experience. Sadly, I am now terribly out of shape! There's no way I could do that again! :P
More recently, I'd have to say my experiences traveling independently. I met SO many inspiring individuals from all over the world.
This past February, I went to Israel and Palestine to visit friends who live there. I had always heard about the misery of checkpoints, but experiencing it firsthand and seeing it with your own eyes is incredible. When you see your friends being treated like second-class citizens in their own country it really moves you. After being shown such kindness and generosity in a Palestinian household, I was so emotionally moved and disturbed. I am so passionate about human rights and animal rights, and I really hope to do something with that in the future.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love meeting all kinds of people--but I prefer for them to be open-minded and accepting of others differences. With couchsurfing, you're bond to meet a gamut of individuals, so you better be prepared to accept others for who they are! :)
