Overview
About Me
I define myself as someone who is open-minded, friendly and cheerful. I'm 20 and currently studying at the department of English translation and interpreting of Istanbul University. I grew up in Nevşehir, Turkey and moved to Istanbul two years ago for my education. I'm planning to work as a translator/interpreter in the future besides improving my acting skills which I started to acquire at the theatre club of my school. I'm a vegetarian and I try to protect animal and human rights as best as I can. I'm also deeply interested in Italian culture. Plus, I'm against any kind of discrimination.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I really like to travel and to discover hidden beauties all around the world. I also like meeting new people and getting to know their cultures. I consider myself someone who needs to be constantly improved socially and culturally and thus think that Couchsurfing may be what I've been looking for in order to achieve my dreams.
Interests
I'm really fond of languages of any kind. Studying them and playing with them are my essential sources of happiness. I see languages as the keys to many other layers of reality in the world. Therefore I constantly keep learning them. Apart from languages, I'm interested in theatre acting too. I've been acting at the theatre club of my school for almost two years and I really want to improve my acting skills and background in the future. Another one of my pleasures is cooking. There is nothing that relieves me more than a cookbook with diverse recipes and necessary kitchen utensils, especially when accompanied by the inevitable harmony of music. I just love tasting new and different dishes all the time. Italian cuisine is by far the winner for me.
I'm also capable of drawing and painting and I like filling some of my spare times with this hobby.

Music, Movies, and Books
I have plenty of favorite music, movie and book examples. To begin with, Lady Gaga and her music cover 50% of my life. I also love listening to David Bowie, Scorpions, The Beatles, Michael Jackson, Madonna, Leonard Cohen, Amy Winehouse, Édith Piaf, Zaz, Nina Zilli, Marco Mengoni etc. and some other classic rock and 80's&90's pop tracks. Another branch of music I like to listen to is pure instrumental relaxing and inner-peace-finding music. I love purifying my soul lying down and filling my mind with nothing but some light and peaceful music.
I watch a whole lot of movies so it is really hard for me to state a favorite one here. Except for the cheesy action-packed ones and cliché comedies, I think I can watch all kinds of movies.
I also read different kinds of books. However my biggest pleasure about books is to read crime and detective stories. Jean-Christophe Grangé and Maxime Chattam are two of my favorite crime writers. Apart from them, I quite like Paulo Coelho's books too.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I quit my scientific high school at the last grade in order to follow my childhood dreams of studying translation and interpreting; and now I'm doing that. Yet, I'm still not so sure whether this one or the fact that I started creating my own language is more amazing for me.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can talk about languages and linguistics until the end of my life with anyone interested and I can also teach the amount of languages I can speak, even some of my own language too. Other than that, I'd love to share my cooking skills and knowledge with anyone. I can cook in any part of the day. Feeding people my dishes has always been my pride and joy. I'd love to learn about any topic at the same time, with mathematics being the least preferred and languages the most. I can seriously start learning any language in the world if the other side is interested in teaching. I also love chatting and learning about music, books, universal and historical subjects, geography and art.
