About Me
Hello!
I realised this had the same info from when I was backpacking pre covid so thought I’d give it a bit of a refresh. My name is Isobel, I’m 24 and spending some time backpacking in Europe before settling down to study in the Netherlands in August.
I love the outdoors, coffee, a good movie and chat and pride myself in being a good mate. I genuinely care about people and creating positive life experiences- the world can be a little shit sometimes so I try to make the one I share a little kinder. Bonus points if you want to do a class, share a coffee or something interesting- plus one to that event you don’t know if you want to go to, or a buddy for dinner. I have lived in sharehouse for the last few years so can talk to anyone, and really respectful of your space.
Im plant based so love to cook, but will go to any restaurant, cafe or experience you are willing to introduce me to. I have backpacked a bit solo around India, Europe and travelled in Mexico and south east Asia.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To meet new people and really get to know the city. I love the hostel experience but find sometimes you only see the tiniest part of a city that way. My favourite way to see a city is through the eyes of friends- old a new- and the ones who know it best :)
Interests
Outdoors, music, chilling. In Sydney I’m part of a few environmental clubs focused on reducing food waste and food insecurity for those experiencing homelessness.
I like walking a city, hanging with mates, sharing a meal and doing stupid spontaneous things you do just because you can ahha
- dogs
- movies
- traveling
- camping
- skiing
- extreme sports
- history
- bars
- spanish
- musuems
Music, Movies, and Books
Any suggestions? I normally like more chill music, hip hop, R& B, pop etc but can be persuaded ahha
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Went on rotary exchange to Mexico for a year when I was 16. It really did change how I appreciated the world and far out, it was a lot of fun. Maybe too much fun for a 16 year old 😅
Teach, Learn, Share
I would love to learn from you about your favourite meals, passions hobbies etc. Willing to give anything a go and teach you the same- Australian good isn’t really exciting but I can make a few dishes I’ve picked up on my travels.
I’d love to do some art or cooking classes, go on a hike, share coffee or just hang. Also, interested in spending some time giving back- we don’t hear too much about Ukraine in Australia but if you want to volunteer somewhere with me that could be nice.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I’ll cook for you a meal if you let me, share a coffee addiction or just hang out. I am here to meet people so honestly anything you want to do :)
