About Me

I'm a student from London who just spent the last year on exchange in Montreal. I'll be travelling down the west coast of the US from 11th May to 11th June, starting Seattle and aiming for LA. I can't wait to see America - or some of it at least! Aiming to have a pretty chill and restorative time, doing lots of reading and writing. That said I also love to go out and have fun, see new things, party etc... Most of all I'm hoping to learn from the people I meet along the way, especially since I'm going alone. I love to make connections with new people and to meet people who come from different places to me. I am very grateful to anyone generous enough to host me or to offer any advice!

Favourite thing someone has ever said to me: "Je suis pas bourré c'est juste de l'alcool!" ("I'm not drunk, it's just alcohol!")

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have only recently signed up to Couchsurfing as I am about to embark on my first proper voyage alone! I'm hoping to be shown the sights by locals while I'm travelling and am really grateful that such a wonderful and generous community exists. When I am home I look forward to hosting - it will be great to meet travellers from all over the world.

Music, Movies, and Books

One of my favourite books is The Go-Between by L.P. Hartley. While I'm travelling I might reread Letters Written During a Short Residence by Mary Wollstonecraft. I love how she evokes loneliness and wonder at the same time.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Saw a baby whale shark the first time I went diving - still very big! (and beautiful)

Teach, Learn, Share

The only thing I could teach would be perhaps a bit of French!
