About Me

Just trying to live as full a life as possible! I love to explore, though I don't think I've explored enough. I think finding new food is my favourite thing about travelling - it's true that I live through my stomach! Meeting new cultures, people, sounds and tastes is wonderful.

My aim is to travel and work around as much of Europe as possible, and then in a year or two sail across the Atlantic Ocean to the Caribbean and then America :)

"Be a traveller, not a tourist"

Encourage yourself and others. Smile at strangers. See the world, live the world. Don't get stuck. :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've always been a wanderer, but I've not much properly travelled. I'm hoping to change that now I'm in my twenties. :)

Though I am quite shy I'm glad that Couchsurfing and similar sites allow a new more personal way to travel and make it easier to connect with people. This site has started many conversations and friendships, and I'm happy to have met many friends from all over the world through hangouts and events. It's good that couchsurfing allows the opportunity to save money this way too, it means more people can follow their road! And when I find a place to call home I will love to host future travellers to continue the giving cycle!

So far, I've surfed 3 couches through my own account, and stayed with other hosts from New Zealand and Belgium with friends :)

Interests

Cooking, eating, being in the countryside... I'm trying to get into a habit of doing yoga and meditation. I really like beer/ale, rum and good pubs. I love seeing as much live music as possible, of any genre. Mostly I sing but I'm learning guitar and mandolin also.

Mostly... Trying anything new. Why stick to old tricks?
