Teach, Learn, Share
I am interested in permaculture, indigenous models of development, and specifically, climate change adaptation. I spent a year abroad in India, where I learned hands-on about how indigenous people are reintroducing bamboo sprouts in order to compensate for soil erosion and forest fires due to over-harvesting in the 20th century. During my graduating semester of college, I did a research project on climate change in Peru and was sparked by the need to seek methods of farming and infrastructure that support harmony with the ecosystem. I have been reading a lot about United States history in relation to exploits in South America. Because of this historical perspective, I now want to be a part of a new era that supports self-determination of native people, while helping them network and seek sustainable solutions in their communities.
