About Me

Thank you for visiting my profile. My name is Issei ( English name is Naru )
I live in the countryside near Tokyo, about an hour away, specifically in south west Ibaraki Prefecture. Most of the time, I travel around Japan and learn and teach how nice traditional Japanese cultures are to Japanese people.

Famous Cherry blossom places are around. I prefer to see and feel the cherry blossoms with no one or less people. If you like to feel and see the local countryside cherry blossoms, welcome !

I give the traditional Japanese foods and cultures classes. So, if you are interested in traditional Japanese things, you are welcome anytime.

I enjoy traveling and meeting new people through couch surfing to share things like their stories, cultures, and life. Feel free to ask about traditional Japanese things.

My classes rank at the top in Google research. (These classes are unique; there is only one class like this in Japan.)

Bamboo craft ( Take-Kago, Candle stand, Pot) Sep~March
Wild vegetables(Sansai) April~May
Indigo Blue ( Aizome, Sukumo) anytime
Tea celemonie (sado)
Kin-tsugi(repairing Pottery with gold) anytime
Miso, Vinegar, Kome-kouji(Malted rice), Konjac

I also like to know about foreign cultures, so let's share it!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I would like to meet new people to get to know the new world and share the culture and stories of what you have done so far.

It would be great if I had the chance to hear about your travel stories and it would be nice to share mine as well!

I will be happy to show people how wonderful Japan is, and I'm also interested in discovering new places in Japan to visit!
