About Me

Hi there! My name is Irma. Born and Raised in the East Coast, but my heart craves the West. I'm best described as honest, positive, adventurous and way too determined for my own good. I have a passion for all things ocean related, music, and techy stuff.

“It doesn't interest me what you do for a living. I want to know if you will risk looking like a fool for love, for your dream, for the adventure of being alive." ~ Oriah Mountain Dreamer.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to be able to travel to other places and meet cool people! The hotel experience can be a drag when you don't know the area. It can be really frustrating trying to navigate around and find the cool hidden places. I want to meet people who challenge, educate, or just talk to me. I like people with depth, who smile when its raining :)

Interests

I love to go to the beach, seriously anything with the ocean and I go crazy. The sound of the waves crashing on the shore is one of the most peaceful sounds on earth. I enjoy the small things in life like galaxies in my coffee.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Went to the Amazon rain forest and stayed with the natives for a week. I got to eat piranhas that I had caught and slept in a mango tree ♡

I have driven from California to Maryland and Maryland to California twice! My all time favorite states to pass through were Colorado, Utah, Tennessee, New Mexico, Arizona, and Wyoming. I have driven a good amount of California down to the borders of Mexico, and around the edges of Oregon, and Nevada, so I can give lots of tips on cool things to see and watch out for! I am always looking to learn from others on new awesome places to explore in the West Coast.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you to paint with oil pastels, acrylic painting, speak Spanish, dance salsa/merengue, swim, diy life hacks, basic programming skills (in python), play the cello or play rugby, properly roll a burrito or make amazing guacamole, sew, create the best music playlists, some fun Nascar driving skills (definite must for city driving), motivational tips, efficient cleaning skills, etc.
I really want to learn to surf and play the guitar!
I completed a couple of mission trips in Tegucigalpa, Honduras in my adolescent years (15-17). It changed my life. I helped build a school, taught English classes, and fell in love with the humble people of Honduras. The whole experience impacted the way I saw the world and through it I was able to learn that we can all make a difference in this world, no matter how small or big.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my awesome personality and travel experiences :D I can cook, but I'm not crazy about it. However, if you need anything organized or cleaned, count on me! My cleaning skills are something magical.
