About Me

Hello! I'm Itamar, a 19 year old traveler currently traveling through Mexico. From a young age I loved cultures and learning about them, so when I graduated high school I decided to take a gap year off in order to reconnect myself to the land and to embark on a journey through Mexico in order to better learn about myself and the world around me. I WWOOFed for 4 months in Northern Oregon and came to Mexico at the end of November 2014.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have fallen in love with traveling, especially when I escape the typical tourist route and find a beautiful, local gem. That gem always involves local people and there is no way to better gain an understanding of a place than to speak and interact with locals. Couchsurfing is a tremendous opportunity to do this, connecting travelers with locals who are willing to generously open their homes and lives to them. I love this relationship and the fact that the internet is further helping us to connect with each other.

Interests

I have fallen in love with traveling but I also love sustainability, studying cultures, reading, as well as a thousand other things that I'm forgetting.

  • hiking

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I climbed the Nevado de Toluca without actually knowing there was a path to the top. My friends and I just began to hike and climb the mountain. What a rough 4 hours

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my stories as an Israeli born son of Argentinians who has lived most of his life in the U.S. and can't seem to identify "home". But mostly I like to listen. I like to listen and learn from my surroundings as I'm young.

Countries I’ve Visited

Argentina, France, Germany, Israel, Italy, Mexico, Spain, United Kingdom, United States
