About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to help the world with my insight and energy and have a good time

ABOUT ME

I like good conversation with people like and unlike me. I know a lot of random stuff and I'll fix anything that's broken at your place. I lean to the left politically. I am a scientist by day, and an avid crafter by night.
Well travelled; my nose can often be located in a book.
Good beer?
Yes please.
These days I am also engaged with starting a Kombucha Brewery

PHILOSOPHY

help others, take it easy, and do your best (in that order)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Host whenever I can, crash when I need to.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Hosted in Berkeley and Sweden. First person I've ever hosted was really nice and we were able to get her on her feet here in san francisco...a total success story. I've surfed in Germany, and here and there in the US; sometimes a place to stay, and occasionally made lasting connections.

Interests

camaraderie, gardening, cooking, skiing, hiking, camping, woodworking, welding, gathering mushrooms and other bounty of the forest, reading (duh), traveling, soccer, staying in shape and doing anything I can in the woods.
Lately I garden A LOT, and ferment anything that can be (which is most things), and I havve started Malmö's first kombucha brewery: Malmö Roots Kombucha.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Running with the Hash House harriers in Kabul was pretty cool, but I think some of my meals would qualify as more amazing ;)
