About Me
CURRENT MISSION
enjoying the summer!
ABOUT ME
Currently, I am a PhD student in Development Sociology at Cornell University where I study the use of theater methodologies for community development projects. I do this all with the assistance of my miniature schnauzer Goodie.
I am the founder and director of a program called ¡CULTURA! Ithaca, which shares Latin American and Latino arts and educational experiences with the Ithaca community. To pay the bills, I work at a company that makes climbing robots for nuclear decontamination work, wind turbine inspections, and more. In my spare time i enjoy directing theater and acting, walking my dog, doing art projects and collaborations, playing the guitar and singing, reading, riding my bike, knitting and partying.

PHILOSOPHY
I have a precious human life. I am not going to waste it. I am going to use all my energies to develop myself, to expand my heart out to others, to achieve enlightenment for the benefit of all beings. (an excerpt from wise words from the Dalai Lama)

Music, Movies, and Books
i don't watch a lot of movies these days but my favorite of all time is DESPERATE LIVING by John Waters - a work of true trash art!
i have a love affair with early 90s rap, my favorite rapper of all time is RZA, and i also enjoy old timey music, Appalachian music, reggae especially Lee Scratch Perry, reggaeton, and of course CUMBIA de Colombia!!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
taking a boat through the mangroves of southern chiapas, mexico, where the river meets the ocean, then getting off on a tiny island to eat fresh-caught and grilled fish, and topping it off with a nap on a hammock, falling asleep to the sound of the waves crashing the sand...
this was just one of the many brilliant moments of my chiapas trip - others include going to an amazing church that mixes the ancient Mayan beliefs with Catholicism, and having a panel discussion with some Zapatistas in their caracol!
