ABOUT ME

My name is Tinka, and I really enjoy traveling, learning languages and talking to people.

Grew up in the Netherlands, have lived in Iceland for two years, and am now living in Sweden! I love Sweden!

My ideal career would involve constant expansion of my knowledge, and would be related to language (reading, writing, editing, talking, interpreting, anything). I can see myself as a translator of books, for instance. But I know I am nowhere near proficient enough... for now.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far my fairly limited experience (about 2 weeks worth of surfing during several trips) has shown me that CS is definitely the way to go if you like to meet new people and new places all at the same time.

Well... here's a few...

LOVE music (all kinds? yes.. all kinds, depending on the mood)

I love talking to people, especially those who I met on the internet because that's where I can connect to all those really great people who otherwise would've been unlikely to cross my path.

I enjoy being out in nature, minus the mosquitos and wasps.

I do enjoy my bit of geeky stuff, and gaming.

I really love reading (from food labels to books).

I enjoy cooking a lot, and baking (always willing to do so in a CS experience).

Music, pretty much any! some old favorites are Bowie, Kate Bush, the Levellers, System of a Down, Scout Niblett, assorted punk, 80s, 90s, flamenco music.

And Erik Satie is my favorite composer.

Movies, any genre really.

Books! Every time a read a book I know five more were just published that I would love to read. Keep it coming :D

I have moved to Sweden, finally. YES!

I moved to Iceland on a whim. That country is damn amazing. Too bad it is too small of a community for me right now. (Northern Lights, check!)

I also walked in a huge demonstration during one of the climate meetings in Bonn, and a few smaller ones in the Netherlands, every demonstration I have ever been to has been a really invigorating experience, the energy, the passion...
