About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Enjoy life....and think about next trip...
ABOUT ME
Talofa!I'm Samoan so am used to hosting friends and family! My place can be like a train station - never know who will turn up! CS allows me to travel vicariously through everyone who lands on my doorstep! Please read my profile and couch info before you send a request.
PHILOSOPHY
Be content with what you have and have an attitude of gratitude. No matter how bad you think things may be for you - there is always someone worse off.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Hosting surfers in my humble abode and showing them some southern hospitality. Friends ask why do I do CS? And I say - Why not!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I started out as a host in 2012 and then was fortunate to experience being hosted in Milan,Florence, Rome, Athens and Istanbul. It was a great experience and am a big fan of travelling this way when I can. You meet people you would perhaps never cross paths with in 'everyday life'.
Interests
I actually am a bit of a homebody as in I love just chilling out and spending time at home. So if you are looking for a 'party' house this isn't it! I enjoy spending time with friends and family - I have many young nephews and nieces. I train for triathlons (am a novice, enjoy a good movie and am involved in a few community groups. I am an aspiring minimalist who love's her stuff....

Music, Movies, and Books
Books: Paul Theroux' Dark Star Safari - amazing book and I did need a dictionary when I read it.
Swan Thieves by Elizabet Kostova...Dale Carnegie's How to stop worrying and start living - love this book and recommend everyone should read this at least once in their life...
Movies:
Rewatched Beaches with Bette Midler...I like that movie.
Loved Philimena with Judy Dench.
Just saw American Hustle...Christian Bale saved that movie..one hour too long and can't beat Goodfellas.
Music:
Traditional Samoan music, Te Vaka, Banda Eva. Love Latina sounds...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Working at a children's community centre in Campinas, Sao Paulo and absolutely adored the children I met, and the people I met along the way.
Going to Otama Bay, a slice of paradise on my backdoor step, reminding me that I don't have to travel the world to get to paradise.
Taking my first ride on a motorbike thru downtown Athens with my CS host. It was exciting and a bit scary at the same time with the drivers....
Fulfilling a childhood dream to visit the Giza Pyramids.
Seeing local teenagers freestyle dance on the subway from Harlem back to Times Square.
Seeing the Foz de Igaucu / Igaucu Falls and all of its splendour for the first time from the Argentinian side...and feeling like you are walking over water.
Witnessing the birth of my beautiful nieces Grace and Bernice Majestic.
Teach, Learn, Share
The language of laughter is universal so even if we don't speak the same language, 9 times out of 10 we'll have a good laugh together. I lived in Brasil for a short time and just fell in love with the place, people and food!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can give you tips on what to see and what to do in Auckland; if i have time I'll usually try to show you one of our volacanic sites to get a 360 degree view of Auckland. You can tag along to one of my training sessions too if you're keen.
