About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Ride around a bit, have a nice time

ABOUT ME

Intensely relaxed about most things. Keen to hang out with local people who know which bars to go to, which bands to see and where to go on a bike.

PHILOSOPHY

Having a good time all the time

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'd like to offer hospitality to anyone who seems interesting, whether that's accommodation or just a drink. I also like hanging out with people in new places.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We used to host interesting people, and I stay with interesting and generally lovely people during cycling trips. At the moment I live with people who aren't into Couchsurfing, but I'd like to start hosting again soon.

Interests

Games, cycling, cricket, music, urban transport infrastructure, walking, cheese, footnotes, spontaneity, wordplay, sailing, crosswords, pubs, baseball, beer, politics, linguistics, puns, visiting friends and having friends visit.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: indiepop, punk, techno etc. I love little DIY venues, dive bars and proper techno clubs.

Directors I love are ones like Ruben Ostlund, Joanna Hogg, Todd Solondz, Andrew Bujalski, the Duplass brothers, Stanley Kubrick, Wes Anderson, Lynn Shelton, Joe Swanberg, Jeremy Saulnier, Jafar Panahi.

Books: Favourite authors are probably Calvino, Nabokov, Foster Wallace, that sort of thing. I've also been getting heavily into George Saunders, Nell Zink and Ottessa Moshfegh recently.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I like going on long distance cycling trips. It doesn't sound amazing, but it is surprising every time how incredibly fun it is and how many wonderful people you meet.

Teach, Learn, Share

I flatter myself that I'm pretty good at napping. Maybe I can give you some tips on that.

I'd love to learn any new languages/improve ones I already speak some of.
