ABOUT ME

Its hard for me to fill these things out... about me...

I'm secular, Jewish, gay, honest, kind and independent. There are few things that I won't at least think of trying. I'm pretty easy going, but at one point loved to have a very structured life. I've traded in the structure for a new adventure... Moving to Israel.

Didn't know much Hebrew, didn't have a place to live lined up or a job set up yet... but I wanted to live in Israel and knew that there are great things in store for me if I just allow myself to experience them (I was totally right)!

PHILOSOPHY

In my life, I try to live by some fairly simple rules.

1. As long as you are not hurting anyone then live your life the way you see fit.
2. Don't tell anyone else how they should be living their lives (unless they are hurting someone)
3. Love myself as much as I possibly can
4. Love others as much as I possible can
Did I forget anything??? Hmmm I'll think on it :)

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have only "participated" in the "CS Community" in this current form one time. However, over the years I have shared my couch/apartment with others in need and in return others have done the same for me. I want to be able to experience as much about other cultures/places as I possibly can. Travel is on my horizon. I want to see as much of our world as I possibly can in my lifetime.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Most of my surfing has been done with people that I have met through various means over the years. Met people at conferences, work trips, non-profit trips, etc... and kept the friendships going. This will give me a different way to meet people.

Interests

At the moment, I am pretty interested in music (most kinds), theater (doing hair for them), in a choir, trying to learn another language and do some volunteering.

Basically, I am just trying to build a new life in my new country!

Music, Movies, and Books

At the moment since I am trying to learn Hebrew ALL of my music is in Hebrew. I have found that I like the sound of Hebrew Rap and Hip Hop. Until I learn the language more I just hope that the songs I am listening too are not too offensive.

I like feel good movies. Life is so hard why watch movies that don't make you at least smile a little bit. Ok those aren't the only movies I like but its a big part. The other types I like are historically accurate movies, documentaries and action.

Currently, I don't have a lot of time for reading but love Fantasy and History books.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Growing up we traveled all over the USA. It really is a beautiful place with amazing things going on. My family drove to all corners of the continental US, but now I want to see more of the world. The only other country (outside of Canada) I have been too is Israel and my plan is to see a whole lot more. Someday this part of my profile will be full of amazing things I've seen or done!!!!

Teach, Learn, Share

Something that I have never been good at has got to be cooking. I know how to follow directions but I have never really had the patience or knowledge to actually cook. My taste also tends to be on the bland side (I blame my mothers side of the family, from the UK-no offense meant). So, if I were to pick something that I wouldn't mind being the student cooking would be something that might be useful. It would require a very patient teacher. :)

As far as teaching goes, I have had a very .. interesting .. life and my life experiences are at the very least entertaining. There are many types of things I feel that I have to contribute: Listening, hearing, empathy, etc (part of the hairstylist job)
