About Me

I am a life-long learner. I'm curious about the world, and through that, I learn about myself.
My first trip abroad was an exchange volunteering program in 2015. I stayed in the Philippines for 1.5 months to study and do a volunteer project. After the trip, I join AIESEC, an international student organization, which opened more traveling opportunities for me. I met a lot of people, did a lot of meaningful projects, I've grown up and learned a lot about myself during that time.

Now, I've moved to the United State to live and pursue higher education. Still, that free-spirit of those time days follows me and makes me who I am today. Now I want to continue traveling and experiencing and sharing my stories. I'm still young, I may not know everything. However, for every experience comes only one in life, I want to remember and cherish it the best way.

I'm happy to get to know everyone.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to get to know people as travelers and as new friends. I believe everyone has a story to tell. Maybe we got to hangout for a short trip or have another chance to meet again in another place. I'm willing to listen to your stories too. I believe if we open ourselves to give and to share, we will receive back what the world could offer.

I also like to learn a new language, explore the culture, the people of the places I've been to. I hope Couchsurfing will bring me the best experience I can have on the trip.

Interests

I like reading books. I'm studying science major in biology and healthcare and it requires me a lot of time for textbooks. I'm thankful for that. For me, books are not always boring and a waste of time. My reading habit opens my point of view and gives me a better understanding of how to connect to people. Indeed, everyone is an open book, instead of reading through words, there is a story that isn't written down. I'd like to get to know that too.

Another hobby I just developed recently is photography. I really enjoy taking photos of places I've been to. There are some moments that come only once in our life. Once they are gone, no matter how we try to bring them back, it will never make up the same thing. Photography is the only thing that could keep the vividness of those moments besides a person's memories. And I'm really into it.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Back in 2015, in Davao, the Philippines, I got a chance to stay overnight on the beach with the sky full of stars above. Under the breezing summer air, I and other interns in my project lit a campfire and sing along until the sun rose. That moment was so amazing!
